GM proproses expansion to Wentzville plant

September 20, 2011 By Brian Hauswirth

General Motors says it plans to invest 380 million dollars and will add a second shift to its assembly plant in Wentzville as part of a new contract under negotiation with the United Auto Workers. If union members vote to approve the four-year contract next week, it will mean 1,850 new jobs for the Wentzville assembly plant, said UAW Wentzville officials.

Governor Nixon’s office sent a release stating that the Governor has been in talks with GM over the past year, encouraging the company to expand in Missouri.
