Royals win season high fifth in a row

September 16, 2011 By Bill Pollock

You may have given up on the Royals a long time ago, but those players are true professionals and are still playing hard. They won their fifth game in a row which is the longest win streak of the season, 7-2 win over the slumping White Sox.

In fact it’s their longest win streak since they won five in early September of 2009. Billy Butler hit a three run homer and Melky Cabrera had four hits.

Pitcher Luke Hochevar is being shut down after throwing a career-high 198 innings, 90 more than last year when he missed 2½ months with an elbow injury. Hochevar finishes with an 11-11 record and 4.68 ERA.
