Southeast Missouri singer and songwriter Niel Boyd has announced he’ll be running for the Missouri House of Representatives next year. He says the seat, which is going to be vacant due to term limits, has always been a goal of his. He says he prides himself on being able to make people understand politics.

He says he wants to focus on jobs and the illegal drug problem in the Southeast. He says another goal is to show young black men and women that the Republican Party can support them too.
