Edwin Jackson pitching in his free agent year, put on another good audition for teams around MLB by going 6.2 innings allowing just two runs and picking up the win for the Cardinals, 3-2 this afternoon in Pittsburgh.
Yadier Molina went 2 for 4 with two RBIs. Atlanta beat Florida so they still lead by 4.5 in the wild card over the Cardinals. Jackson will be the odd man out of this rotation after Chris Carpenter signed his two year contract. With Jaime Garcia, Jake Westbrook and Kyle Lohse under contract and the Cardinals expected to pick up the option on Adam Wainwright’s contract, Jackson will finish out this season with St. Louis before moving on to another team.
