A House Appropriations subcommittee has approved a plan that would cut federal funds to state-supported rail service in Missouri and 14 other states.  The bill would cut money that supports the Amtrak Missouri River Runner Rail Service between St. Louis and Kansas city that last year carried nearly 173 thousand passengers.

It would go into effect October 1st if it makes it through the legislative process.
