The status of Missouri’s top two running backs, Kendiall Lawrence and De’Vion Moore will not change this week against Western Illinois. When wide receiver T.J. Moe said he would shift to running back, many smiled and winked and moved on, but that could happen this Saturday.

Head coach Gary Pinkel, on his weekly teleconference with Big 12 media, said the coaching staff is looking at ways that they can utilized Moe in the running game, given the lack of depth or experience behind Henry Josey.

Pinkel said he elected not to use Redshirt freshman Greg White, because he hasn’t carried the football and to put him in an environment like Arizona State would not have been smart. Pinkel said, White will get ready for this week. Another option is junior transfer Jared Culver, a 5’11 250 pound junior who has done some good things on special teams.
