Ryan Fitzpatrick threw four touchdown passes as the Buffalo Bills handed the Chiefs a 41-7 loss at Arrowhead Stadium, the biggest loss in opening day history at home.

It wasn’t the Chiefs day right from the beginning when Dexter McCluster fumbled the opening kickoff. Five plays later, the Bills had a 7-0 lead. Fitzpatrick finished with 208 yards passing.

Trailing 14-0, the Chiefs appeared to have cut the lead in half, but a touchdown catch by TE Leonard Pope was overturned. Cassel was sacked on the next play and Ryan Succop missed a field goal attempt. The Bills marched 50 yards for a field goal and a 17-0 lead, and then added another field goal after Charles fumbled on the first play of the Chiefs’ ensuing possession to go up 20-0.

Jamaal Charles accounted for the only Chiefs points inside the two minute warning of the first half, scoring on a six yard pass from Cassel who finished 22 of 36 for 119 yards. The Chiefs were outgained 364-213.
