Truman State University’s athletic department announced that 17 baseball players involved in a hazing incident will be disciplined for their action, which includes suspensions and/or reduction in athletic aid they receive.

“It is clear the intention of the baseball team on August 23 was to put a group of younger players under the control of the older ones,” said Wollmering. “This is not what our athletic program represents and actions of this nature are unacceptable to our coaching staff. We believe in treating everyone with total respect at all times from the moment they set foot on campus.”

The names of the players have not been released and a police investigation is still ongoing. Truman State is located in Kirksville, in north central Missouri.
