Another company culpable in U.S. Fidelis scheme, collapse

September 9, 2011 By Jessica Machetta

A lawsuit has been filed against the finance company that was behind the U.S. Fidelis extended vehicle warranty scheme. Creditors of the bankrupt company say Mepco Finance Corporation had to know what was going on with the scheme and therefore should not be the top creditor in line for some of the bankrupt company’s assets.

The lawsuit wants $25 million that might go to Mepco to go for payments to victims of the U.S. Fidelis collapse.
