Shelley Duncan had a career high five RBIs on a pair of homers as the Cleveland Indians held off the Kansas City Royals 9-6 on Sunday.  Duncan hit a three-run homer in the sixth inning and a two-run shot in the eighth for his third career multihomer game.

Eric Hosmer drove in a pair of runs in the ninth inning, and Johnny Giavotella had one of his two RBIs in the ninth as the Royals tried to make a run at it. Former Cardinals’ pitcher Chris Perez came in with one out and a runner on first and got Mike Moustakas and Brayan Pena on weak pop outs for his 32nd save.

Melky Cabrera drove in a run for Kansas City, but it wasn’t enough to help Jeff Francis (5-15) continued to struggle at home. He allowed four runs in the first two innings and hasn’t won at Kauffman Stadium since May 31.
