The Rams finished the preseason 4-0 with a 24-17 win at Jacksonville. St. Louis native and former Mizzou QB Blaine Gabbert had two throws for the end zone at the end of the game but missed on both. Gabbert was just 8 of 19 for 132 yards in the second half.

The Rams defense battered starter David Garrard getting some good shots on him. He left completing just one of five pass attempts. Meanwhile Sam Bradford was 7 of 11 for 133 and a touchdown. Danario Alexander two catches, one for 43 yards as he tries to hang on to a roster spot in a tough fight for six receiver spots.

I remember last year thinking that Bradford may not have been the best fit for the Rams last year with so many other holes to fill, but he’s the real deal. Bradford hit Steven Jackson on a 27 yard creen pass while taking a helmet-to-helmet hit on the play.

The drive ended with a punt, but Bradford got the Rams in the end zone, when on third-and-1 at the Jacksonville 44, Bradford fooled the defense with a play-action and hit Lance Kendricks for a 44-yard score.

The Rams outgained Jacksonville 419 to 292. The defense is starting to come around as well. “The confidence level is up,” linebacker James Laurinaitis said. “It’s been there for a while. We know these preseason games don’t count, so 4-0 in preseason doesn’t mean anything. We just want to keep this momentum going and have it carry over into the regular season.”
