St. Louis teen hijacks car, leads police on car, foot chase

September 1, 2011 By Jessica Machetta

A St. Louis County teenager is in a whole lot of trouble because he wanted an old lady’s car. Police say he hijacked a car of a 74-year-old woman after threatening her with a metal file … then led police on a 15-mile chase before wrecking the car. He was caught after a foot chase during which police say he kicked an officer. On top of all of that, one of the patrol cars in the chase burned up when heat from its engine caused brush underneath it to catch fire while the officer was helping arrest Thomas.
