MODOT opens Highway 65 after two-year construction

September 1, 2011 By Brian Hauswirth

The State transportation Department finished construction on Highway 65 between I-44 and the James River Freeway. Spokesman Bob Edwards says the two-year project was completed on time.

Edwards says the six lane highway will improve traffic flow for everyone, local residents in Springfield, truckers and tourists and the formal dedication will be held next Wednesday.
