A group trying to get a citywide vote against construction of a new nuclear weapons parts plant has ended its effort. The Kansas City Peace Planters group says it wants to go in a different direction instead of getting into a long and expensive court fight. The plant already is under construction. The group had hoped to convert the plant into a “green technology” facility.
