A Joplin man faces 20 charges of bank fraud and identity theft stemming from the May tornado.

The indictment against Teddy Lane Lawson says he stole a checkbook from the rubble of a woman’s home and used twenty of the checks to buy almost $3,000 worth of stuff. Investigators say the woman had hired Lawson to remove scrap metal from the wreckage.
