Senator McCaskill says the report of a wartime contracting commission is “shocking” in its finding that between 31 and 60 billion dollars has been wasted in Iraq and Afghanistan.
The Commission began work in 2008 looking at how contracts were planned, awarded and overseen. Its report says more money will be wasted unless changes are made to contract procedures. It offers 15 recommendations for improvement.
In her statement, Senator McCaskill says “the American people deserve better.”
