Springfield-area residents will get a chance next month to see what the author of a banned book looks like in person. The Springfield-Greene County Library District is going to feature author Sarah Ockler during its observance of Banned Books Week during the last week of September.

Ockler is the author of “Twenty Boy Summer,” one of the books removed from libraries in the nearby Republic School District.

A representative of the Vonnegut Foundation also will take part. The school district also removed Vonnegut’s most famous book, “Slaughterhouse Five” from the district shelves.
