Nelly to open recording studio for students

August 24, 2011 By Jessica Machetta

Rap star Nelly bringing recording studio to St. Louis

Nelly is working with a Vatterott College to bring a recording school to St. Louis.

Vatterott chief executive Pam Bell says the college’s Ex’treme Institute should be ready in October, at the former site of a nightclub owned by Nelly. It will have a recording studio, music engineering space and a graphics studio. It will offer courses in recording all genres of music, and bands will have the opportunity to record at the studio at cut rates, to give students experience.
