Missouri’s Teacher of the year is Lee’s Summit elementary teacher Kristen Merrell. She’s been with the district in various schools for a dozen years, but has been teaching kindergarten through fifth grade classes at her present school since 2004. She now can be considered for the National Teacher of the Year award.
