The Cardinals stumble again, as the Los Angeles Dodgers kept the hot bats going. Jaime Garcia got tagged with six runs in the third inning as the Dodgers sweep the Cardinals with a 9-3 final. Garcia went five innings and gave up seven earned runs.

Milwaukee lost to Pittsburgh Wednesday afternoon so the Cards don’t lose any ground in the standings, but things are starting to look bleak.

Skip Schumaker was the lone bright spot. He went 4 for 4 with an RBI and run scored raising his average to .301. His RBI gave the Cardinals a 1-0 lead off Dodger starter Hiroki Kuroda who went seven innings allowing three runs.

The Dodgers then answered by sending 11 batters to the plate in the third inning. After back to back walks to start the inning, Garcia gave up six straight hits.
