The Chiefs were up 13-10 heading into the fourth quarter of Friday night’s game against Baltimore when things got out of hand and turned into a Raven’s 31-13 win. However, on Sunday after practice, Chiefs head coach Todd Haley praised players who stood out.

Starting with back up quarterback Tyler Palko who is fighting fifth round pick Ricky Stanzi for the number two job. Palko finished 8-of-13 passing for 95 yards and a TD to post a 109.5 passer rating. He converted on third downs, ran the two-minute offense and finished the game with the best stats of any quarterback.

Linebacker Justin Houston out of Georgia recorded 2.0 sacks and forced a fumble. Haley was impressed with Houston’s overall performance as well. Houston was the last rookie to report to camp, but appears to be catching up quickly.

Second year receiver Verran Tucker led the Chiefs with three catches for 68 yards Friday night. His ability to play special teams certainly help his cause in making the Chiefs 53-man roster
