State housing agency leader quits

The executive director of the Missouri Housing Development Commission has resigned less than a year after taking the job.

Margaret Lineberry had been under attack from Lieutenant Governor Peter Kinder, one of the members of the commission board. Kinder has pointed out that a a court order garnishing some of Lineberery’s wages had been issued last month. last December a judge had ordered her to pay 43-thousand dollars in withheld client fees from the Kansas City law firm she worked for.

The commission  has a low-interest mortgage program for first-time home buyers and helps finance rehabilitation and construction of  affordable housing.
