MU’s Elvis Fisher lost for the year

August 16, 2011 By Bill Pollock

Starting left tackle Elvis Fisher of the Missouri Tigers will be lost for the season after suffering a ruptured tendon in his left knee. Fisher will have surgery today.

The senior went down during one on one blocking drills. MU’s head trainer Rex Sharp says he hasn’t seen an injury like this in 15 years at Mizzou. Mizzou looks for a fill in at left tackle. They have sophomore Justin Britt, from Lebanon and redshirt freshman Anthony Gatti from Parkway North who will battle now for that job.

In all, five starters are out right now with injuries, the most significant injury is defensive end Brad Madison who will be out a week with a shoulder sprain. Safety Kenji Jackson and receiver Jerrell Jackson are battling sore hamstrings and d-lineman Jimmy Burge suffered a concussion in Saturday’s scrimmage.
