The St. Louis Science Center, which has been stung by reports questioning the way it runs its finances, is cutting spending by $600,000 dollars this year and the center’s president hopes to reduce spending by another $1.5 million next year.
The center’s board of directors has restructured the center’s operations, cutting the number of vice presidents from nine to five and adding more oversight of executive pay. The changes come after the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported on executive salaries and noted the center had higher-paid executives than any other entity in the city zoo-museum district.
