A group circulating immigrant-status petitions in Springfield has until Monday to round up 300 more signatures needed to put its issue on the ballot.
The Ozarks Minutemen want voters to approve a requirement for businesses to used the federal government program to verify the immigration status of their employees. Businesses that don’t could be fined $499 and lose their city business licenses.
