Lance Berkman’s eighth inning double scored Albert Pujols with the go-ahead run and the Cardinals held on to beat the Florida Marlins 3-2 on Friday night as Lance Lynn picked up his first career save.

Fernando Salas was unavailable, so Lynn was called upon. Lynn struck out Mike Stanton with the bases loaded to secure the win. Stanton had three hits, including a triple, and stole a base for the Marlins.

Matt Holliday hit his 18th homer of the season to lead off the fourth. Gerald Laird added an RBI single later in the inning off Marlins starter Anibal Sanchez.
