A six-run sixth inning and a big night from Alex Gordon helped the Royals get past the Baltimore Orioles, 9-4 Thursday night at Kauffman Stadium.

Gordon had a career high four hits and leads the team with 34 doubles and his tied for the lead with 14 homers.

Down 4-3, The Royals sent 11 men to the plate in that six-run sixth inning to break the game open. The inning included eight hits with Yamaico Navarro doubling home two runs and Chris Getz adding a two-run single. Melky Cabrera and Butler also had RBI singles in the inning.

The Royals had 17 hits with every starter having at least one.
