Senator McCaskill says she’s “ecstatic” about the budget compromise worked out this weekend between the White House and Republican leaders. She tells National Public Radio the compromise has voided the dismantling of Medicare and provides a chance to look at real tax reform. But she says the process has a long ways to go.

Senator Blunt says he’s pleased that a framework to cut spending without increasing taxes has been reached. He says he looks forward to meeting with Senate Republican colleagues to discuss the issue in more detail.
