An O’Fallon man who tracked a St. Louis County police helicopter at night with a laser beam has apologized to the officers in the chopper … and has warned others not to do what he did.

Justin Stouder was charged after his laser temporarily blinded the pilot last year. He says he had no idea what effect his laser would have on the crew of the helicopter.

Stouder is not being charged in the incident. The federal prosecutor says there was no malice in what he did.
