The auditor of Clay County turns out to have a felony conviction on his record although he had told voters before last November’s election that he was not a convicted felon. Now questions are being asked about whether he is violating a state law that says nobody can be a candidate if that person has a felony conviction. The Clay County prosecutor is not commenting on whether he will try to remove William James Norris, who pleaded guilty five years ago to aggravated stalking in Grundy County.
