School officials in Joplin say about 271 students who were in the system before the May 22nd tornado will not be returning to Joplin for the opening of classes next month. Parents of half of those students say they were not returning because of the tornado.
The school district has run an online survey of the parents of more than 77-hundred students who were attending the Joplin schools when the tornado hit.
