Bates County woman asks hit man to bring her ex’s tongue

July 22, 2011 By Jessica Machetta

Bates County authorities say a woman from Rich Hill hired a hit man for four thousand dollars to kill her ex husband … and that she asked him to bring her his tongue to prove the deed was done. 32-year-old Joann Stepp also allegedly asked the man she tried to hire — who was an undercover detective — to bring photos of the corpse so she could show her son. Stepp is charged with conspiracy to commit first-degree murder.
