Two former Chiefs on list filing suit against NFL for brain injuries

July 21, 2011 By Bill Pollock

Two former Chiefs were among 75 former NFL players who sued the league Tuesday, alleging that the league hid the effects of brain injuries from its players for more than 90 years. The suit asks for a jury trial and undisclosed damages. The league began a campaign last year to inform players about concussions and severe brain injuries. According to the suit, the NFL’s action was too late. Anthony Hancock, a former wide receiver who was the Chiefs’ first-round pick in 1982, and former linebacker George Jamison who played in the mid 90’s with the Chiefs were among the names listed.
