E-coli forces beaches to close

July 21, 2011 By Jessica Machetta

High e-coli levels have prompted park officials to close one of two swimming beaches at the Lake fo the Ozarks.

The Grand Glaize beach had been reopened just one week ago for swimming. But the Department Natural Resources says it’s been closed again.

High Bacteria levels are also impacting beaches at Mark Twain and at Cuivre River.

The swimming beach at Trail of Tears State Park is now open since tests show bacteria levels there have dropped.
