Mets outfielder Angel Pagan hit the first pitch he saw from Cardinals closer Fernando Salas out of the park giving the Mets a 6-5 win in 10 innings over the Cardinals, who have now lost four of their last five since the break.

The Cardinals jumped out to a 4-0 lead heading into the bottom of the third. Kyle McClellan singled to lead off the inning against Mets starter R.A. Dickey and scored on a Jon Jay ground out. Matt Holliday and Lance Berkman drove in runs in the third as well.

McClellan gave up two runs in the bottom of the third and in the fifth, allowed a two run homer from Carlos Beltran to tie the game at 4-4.

The Cards retook the lead in the eighth on a bunt single from Gerald Laird, but the Mets tied it in the bottom half of the inning off Jason Motte.

Jason Isringhausen (2-0), worked two scoreless innings for the win and at one point struck out Albert Pujols (who did not start), Holliday and Berkman in succession.
