Thomas, Taylor lead Team USA in softball World Cup

Chelsea Thomas and Rhea Taylor with ties to Mizzou softball will join Team USA as they go up against five other national teams in a round-robin format, in the softball World Cup. Play begins Thursday, July 21 at 7 p.m. CT. The two teams with the best record will face each other in a winner-take-all championship game, beginning Monday, July 25 at 8 p.m. CT. All games will be televised on ESPN.

Thomas pitched in six games and had a 3-1 record with one save and a 1.57 ERA during a tournament that just wrapped up in British Columbia, Canada. Taylor finished the tournament hitting .406.

Here is the schedule. July 21 at 7 p.m. USA vs. Czech Republic, ESPN/ESPN3.com; July 22 at 7 p.m. USA vs. Australia ESPN/ESPN3.com; July 23 at 1 p.m. Tape delayed broadcast of Noon game, USA vs. Canada, ESPN/ESPN3.com; July 23 at 8 p.m. USA vs. Japan, ESPN2/ESPN3.com; July 24 at 4 p.m. USA vs. Great Britain, ESPN2/ESPN3.com; July 25 at 8 p.m. Championship Game (ESPN2/ESPN3.com)
