The Midwest Conference on Problem Gambling and Substance Abuse begins today in Kansas City. The Missouri Lottery Commission and the Missouri riverboat casino industry are among those gathering with addiction specialists from five Midwest states to talk about the link between problem gamblers and substance abuse.
Experts from Missouri, Kansas, Iowa, Nebraska and Oklahoma will hear from speakers including the enforcement chief from a a tribal casino enforcement chief and the director of the behavioral health department in Philadelphia.
