The state has gotten about $145,000 to help preserve two historic covered bridges. The Department of Natural Resources is getting the money from the Federal Highway Administration’s program to preserve historic covered bridges. The money will be used on the Sandy Creek Covered Bridge State Historic Site in Jefferson County and at the Union Covered Bridge State Historic Site in Monroe County.
