U2 plays Busch Stadium Sunday

July 12, 2011 By Jessica Machetta

The entire baseball field has been removed from Busch Stadium in St. Louis. All of the sod had been removed. The bases and home plate are gone. The pitcher’s mound no longer exists. All of this has been done to prepare for a concert by the group U2 on Sunday. It’s expected to be one of the biggest St. Louis concerts since the Beatles played in old Busch Stadium in the 60s. U2 last played Busch Stadium in the early 90s on the band’s “Zoo-ropa” tour.

The Cardinals don’t have another home game until July 25th.
