Inmate from Joplin found guilty of rape, burglary

The state law requiring DNA samples be taken from prison inmates has solved another serious crime. Prison inmate Ryan Owens has pleaded guilty to a 2006 rape and burglary in Joplin. He’ll have to serve 15 years after he finishes his nine year sentence for attacking a man he bumped into at a Joplin pizza business.
