The Texas League held its All-Star game Wednesday night in San Antonio. The AA affiliates for both the Cardinals (Springfield) and Royals (Northwest Arkansas) are in this league and had players representing the North team. The South won the game 3-2 before a crowd of 6,121.

San Antonio third baseman James Darnell hit a two run homer to give the South a 3-0 lead in the third inning.  The North broke the shutout in the sixth when Matt Adams (Springfield) hit a one-out solo home run. The South added another run in the seventh when Cardinal Ryan Jackson (Springfield) doubled and scored on a single.

Springfield pitcher Samuel Freeman pitched 1.2 innings of scoreless relief. Two NW Arkansas pitchers, Buddy Baumann and Kelvin Herrera combined for 1.1 innings of scoreless ball.
