Quick start gives Royals win over Cubs

June 26, 2011 By Bill Pollock

The Royals finished up their homestand on a positive note taking the last two against the Cubs with Sunday’s 6-3 win. A four run first inning helped Luke Hochevar pick up the win.

The Cubs closed to 4-3 in the fourth, but the Royals tacked on two more in the bottom of the inning. Hochevar record as a starter under the sun as opposed to under the lights, is well…like night and day. He’s 9-3 in day games and 2-11 at night. He picked up just his second victory in his last 10 starts, with both coming in afternoon games.
