Madison man dies in train crash

The Highway Patrol says 34-year-old Robert Lee drove into the path of the train on County Road 1073. Troopers say the vehicle burned after being struck, and Lee was pronounced dead at the scene by the Monroe County Coroner.

The accident happened at about 2:50 pm. Monroe County Sheriff’s deputies and first responders and Norfolk Southern staff assisted troopers at the scene.
