Missouri State University’s provost is stepping down in the wake of faculty complaints and a critical travel audit. Provost Belinda McCarthy will return to the classroom. The president of the faculty senate has told the Springfield News-Leader the move is not a surprise. McCarthy had been the university’s number two administrator for five years.
