The Department of Agriculture is suing a Festus meat processor that the department says has sold mislabeled  meat containing illegal animal products and additives. The lawsuit says John’s Butcher Shoppe has labeled products as “ground beef” and “sausage” that also included heart muscle and soy material. The agriculture department says it has been investigating the business for six months. The department says the additives could affect people with soy allergies.
