A Missouri soldier from Whiteman Airforce Base has been killed in Afghanistan. The Department of Defense says 37-year-old Sgt. Edward F. Dixon III was killed with three other soldiers when their vehicle rolled-over in Uruzgan Province on June 18.
The soldiers were assigned to the 4th Battalion, 70th Armor Regiment, 170th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, Baumholder, Germany.
Others killed in the crash were: Sgt. 1st Class Alvin A. Boatwright, 33, of Lodge, S.C.; Sgt. Alan L. Snyder, 28, Worcester, Mass., and Spc. Tyler R. Kreinz, 21, Beloit, Wis.
