Senator Blunt says his trip to Guantanamo Bay in Cuba was an intelligence committee trip – and they saw the courtroom where detainees are tried. He says it’s a good balance between allowing media and not compromising security.

Blunt says its important to balance national security with fair access to information. The court has a separate room for reporters that’s on a 40 second delay, so maters of national security can be censored out.

He says it’s important for terrorist suspects to be tried there, instead of in the United Sates, to protect judges from becoming targets of terror. He also says courts in Missouri would have a hard time relating to the trials; a military judge would be better suited to rule on the cases.
