A study at the University of Washington says the average man in Pemiscot County can expect to live 68-and-a-half years. But men living in St. Charles County will make it to 77-and-a-half. The study by the University’s Institute for health Metrics and Evaluation says the life span of women in Pemiscot County is 76-and-a-half years….but it’s five years more for women in Platte County.

The study says average life spans for men and women in other counties in Missouri fall between those high and low counties.

The numbers are for 2007. The study says 36 countries have longer life spans than the United States has.
