Junior match play golf championship gets underway

The quarterfinal matches teed off first thing Wednesday morning, with the final 8 players battling for a spot in the semifinals.

Grant Grego began the morning round right where he left off yesterday by winning his quarterfinal match 8 and 7. Grego qualified for the match play portion as the 32 seed, and has been playing very well throughout the tournament.

Will Echelmeier, Michael Huber, and Mitch Rutledge also won their morning matches to advance to the Semifinal round in the afternoon.

After battling for the lead throughout the front nine, Huber won his semi-final match against Grego 3 and 1. Rutledge played a great round winning his match 3 and 2 over Will Echelmeier. The 36- hole final between Michael Huber and Mitch Rutledge will teed off at 8 this morning.
