The Royals begin a series in Oakland tonight. Lefty Danny Duffy will start. He’s 0-2 with an ERA of 5.55. The rookie has had control issues.

Duffy as walked 17 in just over 24 innings pitched. The Royals should be getting some help soon in their rotation. Both Bruce Chen and Kyle Davies pitched at AAA Omaha on Monday night. Davies pitched five innings of relief and gave up one run on four hits while striking out four. Chen started and pitched four innings, allowing two runs.

Trevor Cahill, ace for the A’s, will start in new manager Bob Melvin’s home debut with the team.  He replaced Bob Geren.  Oakland is 28-39 and has one just once in their last 10 games.
